Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program

This is a project-based program that requires applicants to move into specified units in order to receive rental assistance. Applicants who indicate an interest in this program will be contacted by mail when a landlord notifies SFHRC that one of these apartments and/or houses will be available to rent. Landlords of these properties have signed long-term contracts with SFHRC, agreeing to rent to applicants from our waiting list. These units are located in different areas of Sioux Falls. The landlords are responsible for tenant selection. Rent and security deposits are based on 30% of the tenant's adjusted monthly income. Rental assistance cannot be transferred to another unit when the tenant moves out.

An application for placement on the waiting list for the Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program can be obtained at the office of Sioux Falls Housing & Redevelopment Commission during office hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. To have an application mailed call 605.332.0704 (Tel.).

Our Mission
