Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher
Housing Choice Voucher (commonly called “Section 8” or “HCV”) is a HUD-funded, tenant-based program that allows qualified households to receive rental assistance in a unit of their choice, provided it meets certain criteria. An HCV allows participating households to select a qualified dwelling unit (i.e., apartment, house, or mobile home), and SFHRC will administer a HUD subsidy to make the rent more affordable.

Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS)
The FSS is a program that enables HUD-assisted families to increase their earned income and reduce their dependency on welfare assistance and rental subsidies.
