Sioux Falls Housing and Redevelopment Commission (“Sioux Falls Housing”) is a public housing agency that was formed by the Sioux Falls City Council in 1968. Throughout the years of its existence, Sioux Falls Housing has been a leader in providing decent, safe, and affordable housing options to the Sioux Falls community. Sioux Falls Housing offers a significant variety of programs to the community. The Commission is led by a Board of Five Commissioners and an executive staff composed of an: Executive Director, Finance Director, HCV Program Manager, and Director of Special Programs.
Programs offered to the community include 1928 Housing Choice Vouchers, 63 Emergency Housing Vouchers, Family Self-sufficiency, Shelter Plus Care grants, 24 Public Housing single-family units, Mod Rehab, Tri-State Help (HOPWA), and the new Just Home project with voucher allocations to support justice-impacted households.
In 1978, Sioux Falls Housing created the Sioux Falls Housing Corporation (“SFHC”) which has become a valued private, non-profit development partner to the agency and the City of Sioux Falls. SFHC is now known as Affordable Housing Solutions and shares the vision of Sioux Falls Housing by pursuing diverse housing development opportunities. AHS is a non-profit leader in the creation of both ownership and rental housing units.
